Hello!
I hope you are enjoying our final cool days of winter.
Last February, I sat next to Susan Breakstone at the annual JFCS Luncheon. She asked about her son, Gabriel, using J3T as his mitzvah project. Well, Gabriel planned and implemented a program that collected 1600 food items at Tesseract School. At his Bar Mitzvah, he used the food as decorations for the Bimah and as centerpieces for the Kiddush Luncheon. He also used $118 dollars of his Bar Mitzvah money to buy food items at Costco. I’m so proud of this remarkable young man and wanted to share with you his story and pictures from his Bar Mitzvah.
Thank you for your continued generous support!
This month’s request: 2 microwaveable containers of beef or cheese ravioli and 1 box of granola bars.
Another program at which I continue to volunteer my time each summer is Camp Swift, an organization that also helps children in need. The Camp Swift Youth Foundation ignites dreams, inspires learning, and instills hope in underprivileged children. They are kindly asking people to donate sleeping bags–new or gently used–for their yearly summer camp in Prescott, AZ. The camp is provided free to children and is staffed by high school and college students. Please contact Pam Steinberg at msteinb454@aol.com or 602-770-2110. Visit their website http://www.campswift.org for more information.
As always,
