The youth at Real World Job Development are inspiring. Each time you visit RWJD, you can’t help but stop at their Wall of Positivity to read their affirmations.
Their declarations inspire you.
Here are a few examples from this past Friday that spoke of their determination to drink at the fountain of success*:
• “I WILL GET MY GED.”
• “I WILL BE A COSMOTOLOGIST WHO LIVES IN TEMPE AND Have a Happy Healthy Family.”
• “I HAVE a RELATIONSHIP WITH G_D.”
• “Brad will be successful in Life!”
• “Mark got a job @ Carl’s JR”
• “Mary past her Reading.. YEA YEA”
• “Craig still in college and working”
• “Mike is working hard on his GED test”
• “Nicole graduated!”
• “Joe got an internship!”

As you can see from these affirmations, these youths are truly motivated. The social workers at RWJD speak about the determination of these youth and their thirst to achieve in life. Ironically, thirst is also a significant concern during the summer months. The youth wait at bus stops and walk to their destinations in the summer heat, endangering their health. Two pregnant teens already were hospitalized due to dehydration and the summer has just begun.
